For the Hon. Richard Rollison – alias the Toff – the investigation was more than just another case – it involved his stunningly attractive cousin, Sal.
It seemed that her boyfriend was being secretly blackmailed and all leads pointed to a fairground. That’s where the Toff encounters several unsavoury types, and the plot is decidedly thickened when he realizes that something more sinister than toffee apples is on sale – somebody was peddling dope!
Into this imbroglio comes the Toff’s fearsome but loveable aunt, Lady Gloria; the case rapidly develops into a hunt for a vicious murderer; and – for the first time in his life – the Toff is afraid to learn a killer’s identity.
